This is an antique gilt gesso picture frame dating to the Victorian period c1880.

A mid-sized frame with complete, original mouldings, the wood and gilt gesso displays an attractive aged lustre. Suitable for landscape or portrait hanging and would make a fantastic antique mirror frame.

To the rear a label identifying the maker reads 'Praat & Polak, English & Foreign Frame Manufacturers, 42, Windmill Street, Tottenham Court Rd, London'

Supplied with the original, substantial hanging hooks.
