An antique silver pocket watch and chain.

The watch has a key-winding movement which is working nicely and the time keeping is good to within around two minutes over 24 hours. The movement is protected by an inner fitted cover and also a hinged inner cover. A winding key is included.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks for London 1914 together with an importer’s mark for Dimier Bothers & Co Ltd (Georges Dimier). The case back has engine turned detail and a vacant cartouche to the centre. There is a little unevenness in places and a couple of indentations to the back.

The watch glass has minor marks but is very acceptable.

The watch has a white enamel dial and there are some very faint hairline cracks and a chip to the edge which is mostly covered by the bezel. One of the hands is a later replacement.

The watch comes with a late Victorian sterling silver watch chain which measures 41cm long including the T-bar and the clasp. Each of the graduated links has the lion passant silver mark although the marks are quite rubbed.
