Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1920s.
The back of the handle is where the hallmark can be found for Birmingham 1926.
The glass is of course new, unmarked but most probably by Hilkinson, creating a very usable magnifier, without damage and with a good magnification.
Excellent condition, measuring 6 1/2" in length, with a glass diameter of 2 1/2".
