The Fancy Fox has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
The silver caps are not hallmarked but have been tested as silver and are embossed and engraved with flowers and foliage and have vacant discs to the very top. There are traces of a gilt wash.

It measures 5 1/4" long by 1 1/8" wide. Condition is very good with only light surface wear. The smelling salts cap has lost its "spring" and needs encouragement to open but snaps shut well and the screw cap is smooth.
