The front opening to reveal a fitted interior with the original green tooled leather writing surface, 3 short drawers above with the original brass knobs.
Beneath a long drawer with swan-neck brass handles all raised on slender square ebony inlaid tapering legs terminating in spade feet with the original brass castors.
Beautiful shaped stretcher with ebony inlay.
This desk is in fine original condition having not been repolished, retaining the orignal fine colour and patination.
The desk is most likely by the London makers Maple and Co, as it very much follows their designs and is outstanding in quality.
Overall a very attractive and original piece of furniture with a wonderful colour and patination.
The desk is in good solid condition and beautifully presented, it has been waxed and cleaned using traditional restoration techniques and is now ready to be housed in its next home.
