Fine Mid-18th Century Caddy-top Chest of Drawers

Description

A particularly fine quality and handsome mid-18th century George II period mahogany CHEST OF DRAWERS of wonderful warm colour and patina.

Below the well-figured mahogany "caddy' top is a solid mahogany "brushing slide" with four long graduated drawers below, all with oak linings and pierced brass handles with matching escutcheons. It is supported on solid ogee feet, and concealed castors within. To either side are fine original heavy brass carrying handles. A wonderful chest!

Dimensions: 36ins wide; 21.5ins deep; 31ins high. (91.5 x 54.5 x 79cms)
