The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1920s.
Speedwell is a brand trade name that was registered by Fritz Kundert of Hefik Watch Company. The Hefik factory was in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, and they also had an office in Birmingham.
The watch is signed with both the Hefik and Speedwell names, and it is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold plated and was made by the English based watch case maker Aaron Dennison. There are three small indentations to the back and some short scratches but overall the condition is very acceptable for a piece of its age.

The watch glass is in good order.
The white enamel dial, signed Non-Magnetic and Swiss Made, is in good condition and has blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.
