Sheraton Revival Inlaid Satinwood Console Table

1900 - 1920
Description

A good and quite rare late 19th century Sheraton Revival satinwood demi-lune CONSOLE TABLE of attractive small size.

Veneered overall in satinwood, and raised on solid tapering satinwood legs, it is beautifully marquetry inlaid with flowers, leaves and scrolls; the top is particularly impressive with segments of finely figured satinwood and multiple cross banding, with a very fine demi-lune panel to the back.

The frieze has similar inlaid and cross banded panels, whilst the legs, which terminate in spade feet, feature finely inlaid trailing harebells. A gorgeous table just 28ins (71cms) wide.
