A Good French Boulle Mantel Clock

Description

A Good French boulle mantel clock. The case in boulle and red tortoise shell with ormolu mounts and an urn finial. The clock having an enamelled dial with Roman numerals and with a Parisian brass movement which strikes a gong on the half hour and hour. French circa 1880-1900

Dimensions: 17" high x 8" wide x 5" deep

Condition: This clock is in excellent original condition. The movement has been overhauled and serviced and is guaranteed for one year.

Boulle work is the inlaying of brass onto tortoise shell, an art perfected by André-Charles Boulle (11 November 1642 – 28 February 1732)
