A Good Walnut George I Style Antique Pedestal Desk

1900 - 1920
Description

A good walnut George I Style antique pedestal desk. The rectangular top with an inset brown leather writing surface with blind tooled detail and cross banded in walnut with cross grain walnut moulding. The three frieze drawers with cushion moulded fronts above the generous knee hole section, flanked by three rectangular oak lined graduating drawers to each pedestal with engraved period style brass handles. The drawer fronts are veneered in figured walnut with walnut banding. The internal sides, ends and back are also veneered in figured walnut with similar cross banded detail. The whole supported on shaped ogee bracket feet. English circa 1900-1920

Dimensions: 59" wide x 30" deep x 30" high (knee hole 24" high x 30" wide)

Condition: This desk is in excellent original condition, cleaned and waxed. A wonderful colour and patination
