Description

Fabulous tall French glass epergne on an ornate cast gilt bronze base. Super quality, the bronze is very intricately formed with the torso of 3 winged male figures forming the main base with a slim horizontal disc with detailed patterns and the upper level with cherub torsos and rams' heads. All interspersed with acanthus leaves, scrolls and bellflowers. Even underneath there is a pretty melon fluted cap to cover the bolt fixing demonstrating the attention to detail and quality workmanship. Topped with a clear glass trumpet vase on a twisted stem with ruffled rim.

It measures 18" high and 4 3/4" wide. It weighs just over 1.5kg. Condition is very good with no damage. The glass trumpet has been fixed into the base at some point over the years. There are some fine scratches inside the base of the vase. Some verdigris on the bronze.
