Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Nouveau lighting, popular from the 1890s to 1910s, features naturalistic forms, sinuous lines, and organic motifs. The Muller Freres workshop in Luneville, France, was renowned for producing pate de verre glass, a technique involving fused glass paste that creates mottled, multi-layered colour effects.

Lighting fixtures from this era commonly combined hand-forged wrought iron or cast bronze frames with art glass. Pate de verre shades were crafted by packing crushed glass into ceramic moulds before firing, creating dense, textured glass with distinct colour gradients.

Authentic pieces often feature acid-etched signatures, heavy structural ironwork with hand-hammered textures, and characteristic mottling within the glass body. The weight of genuine pate de verre glass is typically greater than standard blown glass.

A period chandelier creates a striking focal point above a dining table, within a high-ceiling hallway, or in a formal reception room. Pairing warm amber glass shades with muted interior palettes highlights the contrasting dark ironwork.

Dust metal and glass elements gently with a dry microfibre cloth, avoiding harsh chemical cleansers that may damage iron patinas or glass finishes. Ensure electrical wiring is inspected and restored by a qualified electrician prior to installation.
