Antique Furniture Direct has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
The side supports are barley twist and topped with finials. The back legs are also barley twist and the stretchers and front legs are turned and solid carved seats. One is lighter in colour than the other.

Fairly solid and sturdy to sit on, wear and marks commensurate with age to the frames. One chair is slightly darker then the other (one is more black and the other dark brown)
