Marylebone Antiques has dated this piece to the 1860s.
There are carved corbels just below the top & the drawers are graduated. This Wellington chest is in great condition, dating to around the 1860-80's period & there is a makers initials stamped on the drawer. There is a full length locking bar on the right hand side & a similar looking one on the left that isn't meant to lock, but it does give it a more balanced look. I must stress how large this items is, because you don't really get that impression from the images, so please pay attention to the measurements below. I don't think I have ever come across one as high as this.
Width - 22.5", 57 cm
Depth - 16.5", 42 cm
Height - 54", 137 cm
