Antique Art Nouveau Silver Plate Grape Stand by Elkington and Co. - 1910

Description

A truly fabulous vine leaf shaped grape stand or dish standing on three wonderfully decorative feet.

This dish would create a magnificent show on the sideboard or on the dining table, with plump bunches of grapes hanging from the hook. I have a similar one, which I fill the dish with fruits and nuts at a dinner party.

The underside has a full mark for the creme de la creme of English silversmith, Elkington and Co. Being Elkington, we are able to date it accurately with a date letter for the year 1910, a beautiful Art Nouveau example. The dish measures 9" x 7" and stands 10 1/2" tall.
