Antique William IV Mahogany Upholstered Sofa

19th century
Description

Large antique William IV upholstered flat back sofa with a bold mahogany frame, dating from around the 1830-40's period. The carving on the frame is fabulous & done in the typical William IV style. There are various old indentations & markings on the frame, that are within the polish, which only add to the over all character of this sofa. The legs also have a great shape & sit on the original porcelain casters. This sofa is sturdy & structurally sound. It has just been completely re-upholstered & done like it was originally with the deep buttoned back section.

Depth - 26", 66 cm

Height - 39.8", 101 cm

Seat Height - 16", 46
