The Fancy Fox has dated this piece to the 1850s.
His mother in a pretty green and white striped dress with lilac hat puts her arm around his shoulder probably encouraging him to say goodnight. Lovely detailed modelling and decoration and lots of gilded highlighting.

Marked to base with impressed bindenschild mark, impressed mark 38 for the moulder or turner and 853 dating for 1853. It measures 8" high, 8" wide and 6" deep.
Condition is very good but with a little damage, there is a hairline across the mother's chest and through the white bedding beneath. One of the bedposts on the cot is missing and there may have been some restoration to the top of the headboard. A very small chip to the underside of the hat rim and another to the underside of the mother's skirt.
