The watch has a hand-winding movement, 12.
The movement is signed Longines, Swiss.

The watch itself measures 29mm wide excluding the winding crown and 29mm high excluding the fixed lugs. The case is 9 carat gold and there are hallmarks inside the case back for Chester 1943. The case has an indentation to one of the bottom corners but otherwise looks good.

The lens is in good condition.
The white enamel dial has the name Fairfax & Roberts Ltd of Sydney and London; they would have been the original retailers of the watch. The dial has some faint hairline cracks. The would originally have had infill.
A later dark brown leather strap has been fitted.
