Breton Carved Oak Marriage Double Bed

French Carved Double Bed, this is a Marriage Bed in the Breton style, depicting scenes from the fireside with a young Man and a young Woman

This is a superb piece 19th Century Carving, the head board has an Armorial crest with a crown, while the foot board has 2 scenes one of the young couple

The carving of this piece is very crisp and in deep relief

The bed is 57” high at the head end and it takes a mattress 54” wide and 74” long, and the bed will be supplied with a new pine slatted base
