Large pair of mid C19th Chinese Cantonese polychrome-decorated porcelain Temple jars. Impressive scale pair of Chinese lidded jars decorated in the 'famille rose' colour palette. Decorated with vibrantly coloured alternating reserve panels featuring figural subjects and equestrian processions set in landscape ,court and pavilion settings , together with elaborate floral, butterfly and insect panels.

A large pair of swollen-bodied and lidded 'Temple' vases of arresting visual impact and immense decorative quality.

Fitted with knopped dome lids . The bodies and lids fitted with original decorative, patinated brass hinged fittings ,lock hasps and neck rings.

One vase with extensive repaired historic damage , and although no visible staples or rivets ,the repairs appear to have been undertaken some 100 years ago. The damaged vase is in a stable , strong, true-to-shape state-of-repair.

Excellent pair of 'Country-house condition' period Chinese vases of real presence and scale.
