Description

Early 20th Century free standing mahogany & inlaid desk, the shaped and inlaid raised back with a shelf flanked by compartments with lift up lids decorated with brass gallery on top and below a single drawer, with a tan brown leather writing surface with gold tooling, the base section of the desk comprising of three bowfronted mahogany lined drawers on either side and a long single drawer in the center, all drawers with original elegant handles, standing on six square tapered legs terminating on spade feet, the front of the desk is profusely decorated in floral marquetry and the sides and back with satinwood banding and boxwood stringing.
