Description

A really charming and highly collectible inkwell, probably originally made in Austria but for the English market with the top having the most charming cast brass Owl's face retaining his original glass eyes.

The push button to the front releases the sprung lid with the interior lid having an embossed Swallow motif and the makers initials, D.L.R. The lever to the right releases this interior lid to reveal the original glass ink chamber within.

The outside of the inkwell is wrapped in an embossed leather casing. Dating to the late Victorian era, around 1900, it remains in superb condition. 1 3/4" in diameter x 1 5/8" tall.
