The Fancy Fox has dated this piece to the 1800s.
An ornate moulded leaf decoration around the knop formed from gilded spheres of various sizes. Unmarked, attributed to Coalport by Michael Berthoud and Steven Goss, dated c.1830.

The plate measures 11" wide and 2 1/4" high. The cover is 9" wide and 4" high, combined height 6". Condition is very good. There is evidence inside the lid of some restoration, extensive over-coating but I think the actual work is limited to some small, fine work to the knop, please see final photos. A short hairline to the edge of the lid and a little surface rubbing to the gilding.
