Antique Furniture Direct has dated this piece to the 1800s.
The drop-in seat has been newly reupholstered in a good quality soft tan coloured Italian leather. A lovely rich colour with a warm patina to the elm. Dating from the late 18th to early 19th century.

Solid and sturdy with some old mends to the seat rails and legs. Newly reupholstered. Cross stretcher is a replacement. Seat rail is quite shallow so seat sits quite high on the chair.
