A Fine Giant Gorge Cased Carriage Clock

Description

A rare and fine giant Gorge cased Carriage Clock by John Benson of London complete with original numbered leather carrying case and giant double ended brass key.

The lacquered case with porcelain dial with outside minute markers and signed by the retailer " John Benson, 26 Old Bond Street, London". The large top site glass showing the original oversized lever platform escapement. The movement striking and repeating on a Gong. Fabulous quality and original condition throughout.

Circa 1880.

Maximum Height: 10 Inches - 26cm (uncased)
