A 19th Century Japanese Lacquered Display Cabinet

1900 - 1920
Description

A 19th Century Japanese lacquered cabinet. Having a raised back with typical Japanese gold lacquer detail, repeated in the free standing columns, shelf edges and side panels. The upper section having traditional Japanese sliding doors with intricate mother of pearl, Ivory and bone scenes on-laid onto gold lacquer panels. The lower section having twin rectangular drawers with similar on-laid panels. Japan circa 1880-1900

Dimensions: 79" high x 33.5" wide x 15" deep

Condition: This cabinet is in overall excellent condition, some rubbing to the gold lacquer commensurate with age and use. Minor losses to panels on doors.
