Superb large Victorian majolica cheese bell and stand by Thomas Forester in greens, browns, pink and yellow. The base has a marbled effect with moulded double rope effect decoration around the rim. The bell has similar rope effect rim and arches around the walls with pink ribbons and with detailed yellow and green leaves in each one. The top has pink flowers and foliage and a brown branch effect handle. The main ground is also marbled green and brown and inside is a deep green. Unmarked, a known and well documented model of Forester's with 55 painted to the base.

The base measures 12" wide and 1 1/2" high. The bell is 9 1/2" wide and 8" high, the whole being just over 9" high. Condition is very good with no damage and light surface wear. The glaze has been rubbed on the under rim of the bell as you would expect.
