Carved Oak Settle C.1880.

19th century
Description

Late 19th.c. carved oak settle or hall bench c.1880. Three raised and fielded panels to the backrest each crisply carved with a roundel surrounded by flower heads. Further roundels carved to the surrounding muntins and mullions. Shaped arms with scrolling terminals raised on bobbin turned front staves. Solid oak seat with a moulded edge with the shaped cresting rail repeated as an apron below. The centre of the seat has a faded patch otherwise excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.

Dimensions: width 60", depth 22", height 39".
