Typical Northwest England design case made from choice mahogany in the "Lancashire Chippendale" style.
Fine quality curled mahogany timber used throughout with blind fret work, shaped trunk door, ogee mouldings and ogee bracket feet.

The silvered brass and engraved dial signed to the centre for Foden of Congleton.
The well made fully serviced 8 day movement striking the hours on a single bell.
Finely fretted original blued steel hands, matching original lead weights and heavy brass faced pendulum.

A very good quality clock constructed of beautifully figured timber, in fine original condition throughout with good colour and patination.
