This originally was purchased from a collector who inherited it from his grandfather and was believed to come from the Briggs family. Harriet Elizabeth Briggs (1829 -1902) was the neice of John Fobert, the man who trained the Flying Dutchman at Middleham. She married into the great Dawson racing dynasty of trainers, her husband was Joseph first at East Isley , Berkshire before Heath House then Bedford lodge at Newmarket
