The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1910s.
The watch measures 33mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the fixed wire lugs. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the hinged case back for London (import mark), 1914 with an importer’s mark for George Stockwell. From 1 June 1907, Stockwells acted as assay agents, facilitating the import into Britain of foreign gold and silver items, which had to be assayed and hallmarked in a UK assay office before being released for retail. The case has some marks but overall the condition is very acceptable for such an early piece.
The watch glass is in lovely condition.
The enamel dial is in lovely condition and it has the red number 12, blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.
A later black leather strap has been fitted.
