Hingstons of Wilton has dated this piece to the Georgian era.
This George III bureau would have been made circa 1760.
The bureau has a very un-usual interior in respect of the wide double door cupboard. The interior has also the attractive feature of a step.

The bureau stands on bracket feet with 4 graduated drawers above. The pulls to each side of the top drawer are designed to support the drop down fall work surface.
