Description

A very good Shapland & Petter Arts and Crafts inlaid mahogany wardrobe. The centre doors with fielded panels and superb inlay in various exotic woods. The doors open to reveal a linen press interior with 3 slide drawers. The chest below with 3 drawers, all with recessed fronts and further matching inlay. To each side are hanging robes which retain the original brass fittings and green linen linings and are enclosed by bevel edged mirror plate doors with inlaid panels above. The whole standing on a moulded and shaped plinth with ogee feet and matching cornice. All the ornate and gilded handles and escutcheons are original as are the locks which are stamped S.P. and B. (Shapland & Petter of Barnstable). In very good original condition with very little signs of wear, cleaned and waxed. This fine wardrobe transports in 8 pieces and includes assembly in your home which would take a couple of hours. This wardrobe is extremely large please check sizes will fit your room.
