Description

Ary-Jean-Leon BITTER: a good French anomalies bronze study of a thoroughbred horse, standing alertly.

Beautifully modelled and finely cast; the base with signature and dated 04, for 1904. Quite large: 12ins long and 10ins high (30.5cms x 25.5cms)

*Ary-Jean-Leon BITTER was born in Marseilles in 1883 becoming a highly-decorated and famous French artist and sculptor. He exhibited at a number of the "Salons" of Paris, and was awarded "Chevalier de la Legion d'Honneur in 1932.
