Exceptional Inlaid Sheraton Tea Caddy

Description

A wonderful quality late 18th century Sheraton period TEA CADDY in exceptional original condition.

Veneered in sycamore (sometimes known as "harewood") it is inlaid with ovals of specimen woods to the lid, the front; the sides AND to the back, with inlaid faux columns to all four canted corners. All this is set within complicated cross-banding and herring-bone stringing. The lid opens to reveal beautiful inner lids which retain their original bright colours.

There's most of the original lead lining and it is complete with original working key. This is a wonderful tea caddy...
