Victorian Silver & Opaline Glass Scent Bottle with Gilt Enamel Decorations by William Harrison Walter, London 1885

Description

This scent bottle is truly delightful and very unusual. The spherical body a turquoise opaline glass fading to cream is hand painted with a gilt spray of prunus flowers and a butterfly, inspired by the Japanese influence of the time. It is fitted wit the original silver screw-top lid, fully hallmarked and fitted with a cork.

Dimensions:

Height: 9 cm - 3.4 inches.

Diameter at widest: 6 cm - 2.4 inches

Condition:

Very good.

Minor crease on silver neck, barely noticeable, mentioned for accuracy.

Glass body, glass neck in perfect condition.
