Description

A fine quality and quite large French JEWELLERY CASKET in lovely original condition.

Veneered throughout in beautifully-figured kingwood and embellished with ormolu edges and corner-pieces, the slightly domed lid opens to reveal the original red velvet-lined interior. It features a pretty ormolu escutcheon; original (complex) gilt key and it is supported on ornate ormolu feet. 16ins wide; 11ins deep front-to-back. (40.5 x 28cms)
