M Lees and Sons has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
The octagonal 'end grain' moulded-edge top with black ink inscriptions in four opposing corners probably denoting the points of geographical interest, thought to include Chevron, Yarden , and Har Hazaytim .

Raised upon a finely-made turned and "Solomonic" twist column , onto a tri-form concave-sided platform base with turned bun feet under.
The whole constructed from finely selected olive-wood timber from the Holy Land.

Excellent original condition , no damage or losses. Cleaned and waxed.
A rare example of historical, religious and Judaic interest.
