Pair of Antique French Gilt Wood Side Chairs

Description

Exquisite pair of French antique gilt wood side chairs in good original condition dating from the 19th century. I'm not sure what part of the 19th century, but would estimate them to be from the 1860-80's period, although they may be older. The gilt work is all original & has just been stained in a bit to take out any fresh marks. They have very intricate relief work & mouldings. Please enlarge all the images to appreciate this. The backs have a harp shape lyre design & they have slender but strong turned grooved legs. The backs are strong too. These chairs have just been re-upholstered in a cream linen fabric.

Depth - 16", 40 cm

Height - 35.5", 90 cm

Seat Height - 18", 46 cm
