Elmgarden has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
The bed dates from around 1880, both head and foot board are high with a curved top rail, it is decorated with brass balls and rails with turned bed knobs at each end, there is a also a ribbon and swag decoration on the foot board and it stands on ceramic casters
The bed head is 60” high and the foot is 47” wide, the bed takes a 54”wide x 76”long mattress (standard double)
