English Majolica Dessert Service C1850

Description

This very striking ENGLISH MAJOLICA GREEN LEAF DESSERT SERVICE was made by THOMAS TILL at the Stych Pottery, Burslem around 1850.

It consists of 8 plates and 1 comport, all bearing the impressed 'TILL' name to the base.

The pattern of strawberries and grapes set within flowers and foliage is crisp and well-defined.

The condition is good. There are no cracks or restoration.

Diameter of Plates: 8 inches (20 cm)

Width of Comport: 10.5 inches (26.5 cm)
