Antique 1908 Silver Pocket Watch ... Guildford

Description

Antique 1908 silver pocket watch.

The watch has a Swiss stem-winding movement which is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is good to within around two minutes over 24 hours. It is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 49mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the two case backs for London (import mark), 1908 with an importer’s mark for George Dimier for Dimier Brothers, gold and silver watch importers based in Cannon Street, London. The case a little unevenness to the back but otherwise it is in good condition.

The watch glass has a few minor marks but is very acceptable.

The enamel dial is signed with the name of the original retailer, E Nicklin of Guildford. The dial is in lovely condition and has blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
