Antique English Figural Biscuit Box C.1880 in Silver Plate - Cherubs

Description

An outstanding and highly collectible biscuit box standing on four grand winged claw and ball feet with the top of the hinged lid crowned with an adorable Cherub or Putti figure finial, lavishly gilded.

Each side has a winged cherub holding the foliate wreath swing handle, quite adorable. The box is unmarked, in excellent condition. The footprint measures 6 3/4" and spans 5 1/2" handle to handle and stands 7 1/2" tall to top of finial. Late Victorian in era, dating to around 1880.
