Old Sheffield Plate Urn-shaped Tea Caddy

Description

A good quality Old Sheffield Plate TEA CADDY from the fourth quarter of the 18th century.

Of vase shape, it features an urn pediment to the hinged lid with beadwork decoration around. The body features a band of incised silvered to the eight sides, with a vacant shield-shaped cartouche, and it is raised on a fine oval pedestal base. Good integral hinge and original lock.
