Description

An impressive and fine quality mid-18th century George III period GILTWOOD PIER MIRROR.

Surmounted by a carved and gilded "Bird of Ho" and flanked by a carved and gilded "swan-neck" pediment, this handsome mirror features an incised gilt frame and a shell motif to the shaped lower edge. The mirror plate, although probably not original, is certainly old, with its wide shallow bevelling and light shading here and there. 50ins (127cms) high.
