Description

This most unusual and desirable ANTIQUE COLONIAL DECORATED BRASS CHEST dates from circa 1920.

The CHEST is raised on brass-covered, bracket feet and has two strong brass carrying handles. The solid wooden carcass is decorated with single sheets of brass which are hammered and pressed with stylised foliage and individual cartouches. These cartouches depict domestic and agricultural life and, what appears to be, a kick-boxing match.

Over the years the brass sheets have rippled adding to the character of this unusual CHEST.

It would make an ideal Coffee Table, Log Bin or Blanket Box.
