A Burr Walnut & Ormolu Victorian Period Fold Over Card Table

Description

A beautiful burr walnut & ormolu mounted Victorian Period antique fold-over card table. The top of serpentine outline veneered in burr walnut and with arabesque, boxwood and marquetry detail. With a finely cast ormolu beaded edge, the top folding out to reveal a baize lined playing surface with further marquetry inlaid detail. When the legs are extended to open the top they reveal mahogany lined compartments for storage for cards and counters etc. Having serpentine burr walnut veneered frieze, sides and reverse, the whole supported on French style ormolu mounted cabriole supports. English in the French taste circa 1860-1880

Dimensions: 33" wide x 17" deep x 30" high

Condition: This table is in excellent condition, a replacement baize interior
