Fine Regency Tortoiseshell Tea Caddy

Description

A particularly good Regency period TORTOISESHELL TEA CADDY in excellent original condition.

Mounted on four silver or silver-plated ball feet, with a matching 'ball' handle, the lid opens to reveal two compartments, each with their original tortoiseshell-veneered lid. Much of the original lead lining remains, whilst there is a good ivory escutcheon and a vacant oval silver cartouche to the front.

Beautiful condition. 6ins wide; 4ins deep. (15.25 x 10cms
