The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1950s.
The movement is signed with the Record name.

The watch measures 28mm wide excluding the winding crown and 28mm high excluding the lugs. Although originally designed to be worn by a man, it is mid size by today’s standards so would suit a man with a slimmer wrist, or it could be worn by a lady. The case is 9 carat gold and there are hallmarks inside the case back for Edinburgh 1956 with a maker’s mark for the British Watch Case Company. The front of the watch has a couple of small indentations but otherwise looks good. The case back has several little knocks and bruises.

The lens is in good condition.
The signed dial is in its original finish with blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.
A new dark brown leather strap has been fitted.
