A Gents 9ct Gold Smiths Imperial Wrist Watch

1940 - 1960
Description

A gents 9ct gold Smiths Imperial wrist watch, Made in England.

The watch has a hand-winding movement which is working nicely and the time keeping is good to within around two to three minutes or so over 24 hours.

The watch measures 33mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is 9 carat gold and there are hallmarks inside the case back for London 1960, with a maker’s mark for SCW (Smiths Clocks & Watches). The back of the watch has a presentation engraving dated 1961.

The lens is in good condition.

The signed dial has a subtle two tone finish. There is a little marking but overall it is very acceptable for a 1960 piece. Original dauphine hands, centre seconds with a red pointer end and minute markers.

A new dark reddish brown leather strap has been fitted.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
